We are currently working on a AVC/H264 profile for a client, that needs a GOP size of 50.
But so far I haven't been able to find a setting in Episode - advanced tab doesn't indicate GOP size but average IDR framesize. Have anyone encountered this setting ? Thanks - have a nice one. Anders The Danish Filmstudio, Copenhagen |

If you mean an I frame (keyframe) every 50 frames, that's easy. Set Keyframe control to Forced Keyframes and a Keyframe distance of 50. If it is PAL frame rate that would be a keyframe every 2 seconds. They may also want to use Natural keyframes so you should check about that otherwise it's possible some edit points might not look good (first frame after a cut).

Hi CraigS
I suppose it's the same thing to say GOP size is 50 frames or Keyframe distance of 50. But it's a common phrase in other apps. Say hello to Sydney MacLean from support - he's answer is the same. Thanks Anders |

I'll give Sydney a shout out. The language of compression can be very confusing given there are often multiple ways of saying the same thing.
Each GOP begins with an I Frame http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_of_pictures ------------------------- CraigS Telestream Desktop Forum Moderator |
